Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about our yard care services — pet waste removal, mowing, snow blowing, and seasonal cleanups.
How does the service work?
It's simple! Choose a plan that fits your needs, and we'll show up on your scheduled day to thoroughly clean your yard. We double-bag all waste and dispose of it in your trash bin. No need to be home — just make sure we can access your yard. Dogs can remain in the backyard during cleanings as long as they are not aggressive.
Do I need to be home during service?
Nope! Most of our customers aren't home during their service. Once you accept your quote, we'll collect any gate code or access instructions during setup. You'll receive a notification when we've completed the visit.
What happens if it rains on my service day?
We service rain or shine! The only exception is extreme weather conditions (lightning, severe storms, or heavy snow). If we need to skip a visit due to weather, we'll notify you and reschedule or we'll be back once weather permits a successful cleanup that is safe for our technicians.
Where do you put the waste?
All waste is double-bagged and placed in your outdoor trash bin. If you'd prefer we haul the waste away, haul-away service is available as a $13/month add-on (or $15 for a one-time cleanup).
Can my dogs be in the yard during service?
Yes! Dogs can remain in the backyard while we clean as long as they are not aggressive. Our technicians are experienced working around pets and will ensure a thorough cleanup.
Do you offer grass cutting or mowing?
Yes! YardFresh Lawn Mowing is simple, no-frills grass cutting: mowing, light trimming around accessible areas, and blowing clippings off sidewalks, driveways, and patios. It does not include edging, fertilizing, weed treatment, shrub trimming, leaf cleanup, or landscaping. Per-visit pricing starts at $29 for small-yard mowing, $39 for medium-yard mowing, $20 for the pet waste cleanup add-on, and $45 for the Cut & Scoop Bundle. Call or email us to add it to your service.
What's included in a mow visit?
Every mowing visit includes mowing the lawn, light trimming around accessible areas, and blowing grass clippings off sidewalks, driveways, and patio areas. It does not include edging, weed pulling or treatment, fertilizing, shrub trimming, leaf cleanup, or landscaping. Add pet waste removal to the same visit with the Cut & Scoop Bundle.
How does snow blowing scheduling work on a snow day?
Snow blowing runs November through March. Book per storm, or lock in a seasonal plan for the whole winter. Seasonal clients get priority scheduling during heavy storms. We clear the driveway, walkways, and front sidewalk; roof, gutter, and ice dam work and hauling snow off-site are not included. Pricing starts at $55 per visit — request a free quote and we'll confirm your driveway.
What's the difference between a spring or fall cleanup and a one-time pet waste cleanup?
A Spring & Fall Cleanup is a yard cleanup: leaves and debris removed from the lawn, garden beds, walkways, and patio, then bagged and disposed of. Pricing starts at $250. A One-Time or Initial Cleanup is a pet waste deep clean only. If you need both, tell us when you request a quote and we'll schedule them together.
Can I bundle services?
Yes. Every service can be booked on its own, and mowing bundles with pet waste removal in the Cut & Scoop Bundle for one visit and one price. Snow blowing and seasonal cleanups can be added to any account. No contracts on any of it.
Are your technicians background checked?
Yes. All YardFresh technicians are background checked, and our business is fully insured. Your safety and peace of mind are our top priority.
What areas do you serve?
Our current route covers Burnsville, Apple Valley, Lakeville, Eagan, Inver Grove Heights, Farmington, Rosemount, and Hastings. Outside that area? You can still request a free quote, and we'll follow up to confirm availability.
How do I request service or change my plan?
Request a free quote online or call us at (952) 473-0000. A YardFresh owner will follow up using your preferred contact method with your quote and set up your service once you're ready to begin. Existing customers can use the client portal to manage their plan, skip visits, update payment information, and more.
Is there a contract or commitment?
No long-term contracts! Our recurring plans are month-to-month. You can cancel, pause, or change your plan anytime through our client portal or by contacting us.
Do you offer service for commercial properties, HOAs, and apartment complexes?
Yes. We work with apartment and condo complexes, HOA common areas and dog runs, dog parks, townhome associations, and pet-friendly business properties across the Twin Cities metro. Schedules are built around your property (weekly, twice-weekly, or a custom cadence), and bulk pricing is available for larger sites. Reach out via our contact form or call (952) 473-0000 for a property-level quote — commercial sign-ups don't go through the residential online form.
What if I have more than 4 dogs?
We love big dog families! For households with 5 or more dogs, contact us for a custom quote. We'll work out a plan that keeps your yard clean no matter the pack size.
Are your products safe for pets and children?
Absolutely. Our deodorizing treatments use pet-safe, eco-friendly formulas. We never use harsh chemicals. Your yard is safe for pets and kids immediately after treatment.
Can yard deodorizing be applied year-round?
Yard deodorizing cannot be applied during winter months. This service is available during spring, summer, and fall when conditions allow for effective treatment.
